Something I learned from my son-in-law. He also bought a HUGE 3d printer.
When you move to a 3d printer with such a large bed , STAY AWAY from one with a XY MOVING BED. They are SLOWWWW. It took him 2 days for a single print. This is because of the INERTIA of the 3d bed. The printer I listed above moves THE EXTRUDER in the XY position and the table only moves in the Z axis (up and down)
I have found a new printer that will print 400mm X 400mm X 400mm for $400 USD. The Tronxy X5S-400 KIT . I'm considering selling my old printer, also built as a kit and buying this new BEAST. I'm guessing that it will be HUGE, at least 3 FEET x 3 FEET x 3 FEET outside .
Yes , your case is one reason, but I also need a larger printer for DRUM PARTS.
I know that print size is only one factor. Resolution and speed are others.
